You at least have to appreciate his honesty. He is not the only petty tyrant wishing we could all experience the "safety" of living under a dictatorship, but he is one of the few who is upfront about it.

Well said.

When the West has spent all these decades emasculating men, it's no wonder that the beta wolves are--well--wetting themselves in hysterical abasement in front of what they perceive as strength.

Give 'em five minutes in one of Xi's re-education retreats and see how they do...

Kirsten's avatar

Gosh dang, good point, "wetting themselves in hysterical abasement in front of what they perceive as strength". And let's add "wetting themselves at the 0.2% risk of hospitalization or death from a disease".

Always remember I'm the little girl who cried when Glenn Ford killed Jack Palance in "Shane." Never got over it.

Phoebe's avatar

Wasn't it Alan Ladd who killed Jack Palance? I didn't cry, but I wasn't happy about it.

SCA's avatar

Alan Ladd, yes. All those soft bland guys look alike to me.

Phoebe's avatar

That may be why we both were sad when he killed Jack Palance in the movie. Palance was far more attractive and interesting -- at least to our (ahem) immature minds at the time. 🙄😉

I was ruined young. Richard Boone, Jack Palance, Yul Brynner in "The Journey"--at least Paladin didn't get killed off. It was exhausting, never having a happy ending...

The past two years have shown me that we have a lot of truly insane people in Canada.

Phoebe's avatar

It's not just Canada. Lots of paranoid hypochondriacs here in the USA.

I love my Canadian snowbird neighbors but have found them to be obedient sheep over the past two years, though all are conservative anti-Trudeau types. Why are they so different from Americans in terms of government obedience? Maybe they have to obey in order to cross the border into the US?

We’re too nice. We don’t want to be brash. We want to do good.... personally I’m done with following rules. Charles has gone off the deep end. I’ve listened to him many times over the years and I am completely shocked by this attitude he now has.I’d say he is completely brain washed by fear as so many others have been. In Toronto there are still huge numbers wearing masks outside in hot humid weather.

Oh Susanna's avatar

Toronto is absolute zombie land.

No idea, though that's definitely a difference in the Canadian and US psyche. Some theorize it comes from our different histories, whereas the US was born out of rebellion, Canadians remained loyal to the British crown. I don't know if that fully explains it.

Part of the issue is that the government spent $700 million buying media subservience. It shifted from telling truth to power to becoming its cheerleader and attack dog. Anyone then taking on the speaking truth role is morally shamed with labels like “far right”.

There's nothing stopping this guy from welding himself in his home and living the way the poor souls in China have had to live under their "zero covid" policy. Hell, I'd even volunteer to put the locks on his door (from the outside of course) and cover up all his windows. After all, if it saves just one life it'd be worth it.

I wonder how Mr. Adler would feel about being strapped down on a gurney and having his kidney removed with out anesthesia or painkillers?

Now you know 14 cents worth of fentanyl would resort in a much better experience for the surgeon, but you wouldn't have the Satanic torture aspect of it, and that is the most important point.

The death graph of China is ridiculous. Its fake to the T.

So obviously this idiot has no empathy for others who lost their family businesses, have the stress of having kids at home while working full-time, losing one's job and home and being thrown into homelessness, etc.

Had deep suspicions about Adler for a long time. This just confirmed it. He is only paying lip service to social justice issues when it cones to China 🇨🇳

I'd donate to a one-way ticket to Shanghai for this nutcase.

Unfortunately this shows the unquestioning faith in the garbage spouted by the CCP. Alberta engaged in randomly applied lockdowns focusing on a few clergymen which highlighted the authoritarian nature of lockdown policy. Charles Adler’s dismay for the ineffectiveness of Canadian CCP virus mitigation policy is misplaced on the need for more of that which doesn’t work.

Busster's avatar

Adler is a muppet of the state, of the highest & lowest order.

Imagine being such a dolt that you believe anything that comes from the CCP.

Charles Adler is no Albertan. He resides and broadcasts from British Columbia where citizens continue to be locked down by Bonnie Henry, Medical Officer of Health. He’s likely very proud of Horgan and Bonnie Henry for the fine job of destroying the lives of their citizens. What we do gather is that Mr. Adler is no fan of freedom or choice. Look who’s advocating for a Chinese system. Shame on Adler.

Nothing stopping him from living in Shanghai.
