Eugyppius, one of the most clear-eyed thinkers of the COVID era, has penned a masterful review of Snake Oil: How Xi Jinping Shut Down the World, raising many thoughtful points about the book and my work of the past two years.
It is Eugyppius' review of your book that inspired me to subscribe to your newsletter. I look forward to reading your book! It makes a lot of sense to me.
Indeed, it's a great review. I also agree with you in large part that the virus is tantamount to a distraction, and that the vast majority of the harm attributed to the virus has likely been caused by policy choices instead of the virus. We (myself, a policy lawyer, an ER doctor, and a PhD with training in epidemiology) detail these issues in this essay, showing massive exaggeration in the public stats from "cases" to "hospitalizations" to "deaths": https://tamhunt.medium.com/how-covid-19-stats-are-grossly-exaggerated-a-brief-summary-of-the-arguments-53a5b4237c4c
This is an interesting piece. You should consider updating and reposting on Substack. After Medium started censoring pieces, many of us stopped using that platform. Substack seems impervious so far, so there are many thoughtful folks here.
Just finished the book and ordered another one for good friend. Thanks for doing the hard work of researching and writing such an excellent work. - dave
I have read your terrific book and, after having noticed the insane censorship on social media, searched regularly if you were on other sites like GAB or if you had a substack but couldn't find any.
Thanks to Eugyppiu's review I've found this and I'm delighted to be a subscriber. Now that China is having another go at it, you're the most qualified to provide insights.

Thank you, Bess!

Thanks so much Dave, I really appreciate that!
Bought the book months ago and didn't realize until today you have a Substack. Subscribed. Looking forward to your next work.
Awesome. Thanks!

Many thanks Roberto, glad you were able to find me!
I'm a new subscriber based on the recommendation from Eugippius. Look forward to reading the book soon (I've got a bit of a reading backlog though :-)
