If the truth about the history of so-called "covid" is written accurately, it will mark one of the most damaging and destructive events in world history: due to government overreach, health departments with agendas, a media that no longer cared about the truth and chose scaring people for ratings over saving lives. What a sick, frothing mess. While Klaus and Gates have a Cheshire cat grin on their demonic faces.

There is little hope for America's future as long as millions continue to buy the NY Times. Successful societies know how to recognize propaganda. Our problem isn't the Times, or Twit or Face or the others. The problem is our neighbors who read and believe them. We need interventions, starting local.

You're correct. I've given this considerable thought, and the only intervention with a realistic chance of success is simply "suffering the consequences of their own ignorance", but I'm still pessimistic that will work.

Suffering is never the preferred option. First, do no harm. Most people are driven by popular notions, not by rational situational analysis. The best intervention is intervention. We have to change the popular notions. We who have reasoned preferences need to be stronger advocates for those positions. Polite tolerance guarantees proliferation of chaos. Acceptance is interpreted as surrender. Winning is never easy in anything.

I applaud the inspirational message, but herd behavior will change when it changes despite anyone's best efforts, and I suppose some brave activist will be able to claim the credit.

Cowboys control the herd, even stop stampedes, with skill, tenacity and courage. People are no different than cattle, mostly. We just need to find a few sober cowboys.

Brilliant, simply brilliant.

OK. Exactly what will we do to prevent this from ever happening again? Survivalist bunkers won't help. Homeschooling the kids won't help. Shaking our fists across the vast panorama of likeminded Substack commenters won't help. Voting for the same class of morons, regardless of their labels, won't help.

Tell me what will, and please stay out of Neverland while coming up with useful answers.

(I appreciate what you do and that you've been warning everyone for awhile now. Now tell me what we do, going forward.)

Our community ripped off our masks, came together and said hell NO to our dictator here. There's plenty of blame to go around for where we find ourselves, but as a Nation, we complied ourselves to this point and, in my opinion, the only way out is to have *massive* noncompliance when challenged again. To be honest, seeing the way people caved this time around, I'm not holding out a lot of hope for the nation as a whole overcoming, but I absolutely do believe there will be pockets of resistance around the country like we had here. Will it get so tyrannical there will be no way out? I hope not. Only when tested again will we know if we've lost it all for good. Keeping fingers crossed.

It WILL get so tyrannical there's no way out, if we allow it. More precisely, there's always a way out, but those ways become increasingly difficult the longer we wait. Recovery might begin in November in the US, but only if enough people begin taking greater interest in supervising their governments. If we remain complacent, it WILL get worse.

I agree with Rob D on all counts. I believe community - creating your own is key. Rod Dreher has some excellent advice about how to do that in two of his books - Live Not By Lies and The Benedict Option. As a veteran homeschooler, I believe homeschooling will help within the context of community. Dr. Mark McDonald just put up a post about this on his Substack (Dissident MD) this evening.

I think you just do nothing. The idea that we'll be able to stop this avalanche of stupidity is itself stupid. You're not going to do anything to bring back sanity. Some degree of normalcy may return to some degree, but it won't be because of anything "we" did. When the herd stampedes don't try to be a bull fighter, just get out of their way. Put your energy into bettering yourself, your family and those around you, and forget the world.

Yep. Here's a quick review of 'Snake Oil' or a recommendation at least.

Read it. It's wonderful, powerful, shocking, easy to read, habit forming. But it's also fearfully terrible and ugly because it tells the truth of how things are.

Here's an extract from early on, heads up a chapter, very apt right now I think, it is a quote from C S Lewis:

"For if crime and disease are to be regarded as the same thing, it follows that any state of mind which our masters choose to call ‘disease’ can be treated as crime; and compulsorily cured. It will be vain to plead that states of mind which displease government need not always involve moral turpitude and do not therefore always deserve forfeiture of liberty. For our masters will not be using the concepts of Desert and Punishment but those of disease and cure… The new Nero will approach us with the silky manners of a doctor, and though all will be in fact as compulsory as the tunica molesta or Smithfield or Tyburn, all will go on within the unemotional therapeutic sphere where words like “right” and “wrong” or “freedom” and “slavery” are never heard… Even if the treatment is painful, even if it is life-long, even if it is fatal, that will be only a regrettable accident; the intention was purely therapeutic… But because they are ‘treatment,’ not punishment, they can be criticized only by fellow experts and on technical grounds, never by men as men and on grounds of justice. – CS Lewis, The Humanitarian Theory of Punishment, 1949"

Thanks for this steveBDH. I forwarded this article to Gove Ron DeSantis. He is a lawyer and hopefully our next president and a good man. Hoping he can change this miscarriage of justice and make it something that doesn't strip Americans of their rights as happened in Covid esp in the blue states.
